The River: Marriage for Tumi and Zolani?
A love triangle, a possible marriage proposal and a lovers’ reunion, a lot has happened on The River in just a few days. These are the highlights.
A love triangle
We were never ready for the drama between Tumi, Lindani and his wife, Khabonina. Lindani is supposed to be a happily married family man, right? Well, guess what? He’s not. He’s made it clear that he wants nothing to do with his wife and that he wants a divorce. Lindani took things further by kissing Tumi and telling her that he’s still in love with her.

In case you’ve forgotten, these two were in a relationship, and they were quite happy until Lindani discovered that he had a child he didn’t know about. This is where it gets tricky – the child is not Lindani’s, but he doesn’t know that. The plan, devised by Zolani, was aimed at breaking up Tumi and Lindani. The strategy worked for a while, but now Lindani can’t take another moment without his Tumi. He’s even prepared to lose his wife and “son”.
Things got too real, and Malefu was informed that her daughter was trying to break up a happy home. You know Malefu doesn’t play like that, and she organised a prayer session for Tumi, Khabonina and Lindani. As funny as it might have been to some people, Tumi didn’t handle this well because she’s been telling everyone that she’s not having an affair with Lindani and that he’s the one who’s chasing her. Will Lindani get his way? We don’t think so…
Getting Tumi back isn’t going to be easy as Zolani is prepared to do whatever it takes to make sure that the truth never comes out. He wants Tumi to remain in his life forever. On Friday, he asked his uncle to do him a favour. We’re assuming that it has something to do with marriage, because after their conversation, Zweli was seen at Tumi’s home with a letter in his hand. Do we hear wedding bells?

Njabulo is back
We were seriously starting to worry about Andile’s behaviour. Ever since he discovered that Njabulo had moved on, he started making poor decisions in his love life. He started sleeping around, and this behaviour resulted in him being featured in a list titled “Pretoria’s most promiscuous gays”. This didn’t sit well with his mother Lindiwe, and she took it upon herself to fix her son’s life.
Is Lindiwe thinking of bringing back the very same Njabulo she never wanted to see again? #TheRiver1Magic pic.twitter.com/ZyhEYgYgA0

Lindiwe’s way of fixing things was to bring Njabulo back into Andile’s life. She offered him a job, and he accepted. However, when Njabulo surprised Andile in his bedroom to tell him the good news, Andile wasn’t there alone. Andile asked TJ to hide before Njabulo could come in. We’re wondering how things will play out.
