The Emmy-nominated police procedural is based on a series of bestselling novels by Michael Connelly, one of the most successful authors alive today. Connelly has sold over 74m copies of his books in over 40 languages since his first novel about Detective Harry Bosch, The Black Echo, won the prestigious Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award for Best First Novel in 1992.

Season 4 is based on Connelly’s sixth Bosch book, the New York Times bestseller Angels Flight.

When an attorney is murdered on the eve of his civil rights trial against the Los Angeles Police Department, Bosch (Argo’s Titus Welliver) is assigned the case. With Los Angeles on the verge of a riot, his findings may either piss off his department or tip the city over the edge.

At the time of writing, the TV series has a 8.3% rating on IMDB and a 91% critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes, where the previous two seasons scored 100% from critics and over 95% from audiences.

As The New York Times wrote, “The series works like a good page-turner… A straight-up Los Angeles noir: a cop with a code (and, in this case, a cool hilltop house) seeking justice amid the moral squalor of Hollywood… It works because Detective Harry Bosch is embodied — in some absolute sense of the word — by Titus Welliver in a performance so natural and convincing that it’s hard to imagine him playing anything else.”

Look out for the likes of The Wire’s Jamie Hector and Lance Reddick, Picket Fences’ Amy Aquino and The Walking Dead’s Madison Lintz.
